European Empires and Their Influence on the World

No matter where you go in the world you are bound to see some influences of European culture. There is probably no other continent that has such a total representation around the world than Europe. The reason for this goes back to the era of colonialism, which started in earnest around 1500 A.D. and pretty much ran its course by the 20th century.
