One of the most interesting places to visit is the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Surrounded by 125,000 acres, the three-story mansion is the centerpiece of the Biltmore Estate. Built by George Washington Vanderbilt, one of the grandchildren of the railroad and shipping industries' tycoon, Cornelius Vanderbilt, it is the largest privately owned home in the United States.
