Situated along the rugged Northern California Coast is the quaint, relaxing town of Mendocino. This small New England-style village with hotels, storefronts and homes from the mid 1800's to early 1900's, is perched on a headland with a commanding view of the open ocean. Mendocino is located approximately 3.5 hours north of San Francisco and 3 hours south of Eureka. This is one of the most difficult to reach regions of California which also makes it one of the least traveled. This artist colony by the sea is a wonderful tourist destination with a plethora of B&B Inns, romantic restaurants, boutique shops, museums, astounding scenery and nearby attractions.
