Rugged Mount Baker Attracts the Wilderness Lover

Mount Baker is the northernmost member of the Cascades Mountain Range (in the United States, at least!) and draws tourists year round, many of whom stay in time-share condominiums, as well as in the many hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts and other lodgings in the region. If you visit Bellingham, Washington or Vancouver, British Columbia, or anywhere in between, you'll see the glistening white Mount Baker stark against the skyline. If the conditions are right, you'll be able to see plumes of steam coming from Sherman Crater - yes, Mount Baker is an active volcano, and that adds to its allure.
