A small rivulet, a rugged and crude cliff, a dense wooden backdrop of sal and mahua trees, a few swans, a Shiva temple and revered priest make up the setting for this idyllic and charming waterfall. The sound of the falling water, especially during monsoons, can be heard from a long distance and may trick your senses into believing that a huge cascading bonanza is on offer. The 40 ft. high Koilighugar water fall, situated near an obscure village of Kushmelbahal in the Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district, may not be the most spectacular fall in Odisha, but it surely is the most rustic of them all.
